Job summary

LMI, based in Tysons, Virginia, is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to own the architecture and delivery of scalable data pipelines and products supporting Army logistics. You will design data models and ontology, ensure data quality and security, and collaborate with software engineers, product designers, and stakeholders.

This senior individual-contributor role requires architectural decision-making, production-grade systems, and raising the technical bar for the team, with eligibility for U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• Eight+ years of experience building production data systems.
• Strong proficiency with Python and SQL and modern data-engineering patterns.
• Experience designing data pipelines and products on Palantir Foundry or comparable platform.
• Experience with data modeling, ontology, data quality, and lineage.
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals: testing, source control, CI/CD, monitoring.
• Experience supporting a Department of War customer.
• Active Secret clearance.

Overview

LMI is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to build authoritative data products supporting Army logistics operations. This engineer will own the development and sustainment of data pipelines, models, and ontology within Palantir Foundry.

This is a senior individual-contributor role for an engineer who can make architectural decisions, build production systems, and raise the technical standard of the team.

Require Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Eight or more years of experience building production data systems.

• Strong proficiency with Python, SQL, and modern data-engineering patterns.

• Experience designing data pipelines and products on Palantir Foundry or a comparable enterprise data platform.

• Experience with data modeling, ontology, data quality, and lineage.

• Strong software-engineering fundamentals, including testing, source control, CI/CD, and monitoring.

• Experience supporting a Department of War customer.

• Active Secret clearance.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience supporting the U.S. Army.

• Direct experience with Army Vantage.

• Experience with PySpark or other distributed data-processing technologies.

• Familiarity with Army ERPs and SAP-based systems.

• Experience with cloud platforms, DevSecOps, and infrastructure as code.

• Familiarity with API design and development, backend services, and service orchestration.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, LMI will consider only applicants who currently hold a security clearance.

Target salary range: $130,000-$200,000

The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.
