Job summary

LMI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data architectures and ontologies supporting Army operations. You will lead data models and integration across Army systems, including Palantir Foundry, Vantage, and Maven, with a focus on AI-enabled workflows.

The role requires hands-on engineering, collaboration with software and operations teams, and an active TS clearance. Fort Bragg, NC-based position with enterprise-scale data responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Six+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or software engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience designing and implementing production data pipelines, transformations, and integrations.
• Experience with complex data modeling across multiple data sources.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, Maven Smart System, or similar platforms.
• Experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems (APIs, databases, unstructured data).
• Understanding of data quality, lineage, governance, security, and access controls.
• Ability to lead technical design while contributing hands-on engineering work.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data architectures, pipelines, and integrations using Palantir Foundry and related platforms.
• Lead ontology development representing operational entities and relationships across data sources.
• Design data models for personnel, units, equipment, installations, resources, and activities.
• Assess data models and ontologies to identify improvements and reuse opportunities.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from Army and DoD systems of record.
• Establish data quality, lineage, and access controls for reliable decision-making.
• Develop ontology objects, relationships, and workflows for operational apps and AI capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineers to enable natural-language querying and agent-enabled workflows.
• Provide guidance on data architecture and best practices.
• Translate mission needs into technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Support integration across Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, Maven, and enterprise environments.
• Contribute hands-on to development, testing, and deployment of data capabilities.
