Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to build a modern data foundation powering digital products across the Orthopaedics Supply Chain. You will design lakehouse architectures on Databricks and AWS, and deliver governed, reusable data products for analytics, reporting, AI, and operational decisions.

You will lead architecture discussions, develop end-to-end pipelines, and collaborate with product, governance, data science, and IT teams to ensure scalable, high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum four years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or platform engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL, and Delta Lake.
• Experience with AWS and Azure cloud services and modern data architectures.
• Ability to coordinate distributed teams and deliver executable plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for modernizing enterprise data foundations.
• Design and implement data pipelines and lakehouse architectures.
• Develop batch, streaming, and event-driven data pipelines for analytics and AI.
• Collaborate with product owners, governance, ML groups, and IT partners to achieve outcomes.
• Lead architecture reviews, ensure scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with contractors and vendors.
