Job summary
Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the enterprise data and AI platform initiatives. You will design trusted data products, set architecture standards, and guide ingestion, transformation, governance, and semantic modeling while remaining hands-on.
You will collaborate with senior leaders to translate strategy into scalable data solutions and shape an executive analytics portal with AI-driven insights that are accurate, explainable, and securely
Qualifications
- 8+ years in Data or Software Engineering with SQL and Python.
- 0
- Expertise with dbt and cloud data platforms (Databricks preferred).
- Experience with GenAI, LLM agents, or RAG architectures.
- Proven ability to build production-grade interactive applications.
- Strong collaboration and leadership across functions.
Responsibilities
- Certified Data Backbone: design scalable ELT pipelines and semantic models.
- Executive Analytics Applications: build a unified executive analytics portal.
- Agentic AI & Context Engineering: deploy AI agents with RAG and guardrails.
- Cross-Functional Executive Partnership: partner with Finance, People, Privacy, and Legal.
- Strategic Engineering Leadership: define end-to-end engineering standards and IaC.
