Job summary

Intuit Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Consumer Group Data Engineering Team in Mountain View, CA.

You will be a technical leader, delivering data pipelines, governance, and scalable data platforms leveraging Spark, Flink, Google Cloud, and AWS. You will guide multiple scrum teams, drive complex projects, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and data scientists to validate hypotheses using rapid experimentation.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years in software engineering with data engineering focus.
• Expert in Java (Spring/Spring Boot) or Scala for Spark apps.
• 5+ years with SQL, XML, JSON, YAML, Python, Linux.
• Experience with AI/ML, GenAI, personalization or recommender models.
• GenAI tooling like Cursor or Windsurf to accelerate development.
• Docker, Spark, Scala, Jupyter Notebook, Databricks Notebooks, Kubernetes, SageMaker.
• Cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP; AWS experience highlighted.
• Data warehousing and analytics architecture; large data volumes and data viz.

Responsibilities

• 70–85% hands‑on development across the software life cycle.
• Rapidly fix bugs and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Lead effort estimation, design specifications, and data model implementation.
• Mentor engineers and promote knowledge sharing across the team.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data science to drive experiments.
• Advance end‑to‑end system design focusing on reliability, security and performance.
