Job summary

Realtor.com is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join the Data team in Austin. You will enable data-driven decisions by building modern, scalable data platforms that prioritize governance, security, and cost efficiency, while collaborating with an experienced group of engineers.

Lead data architecture, own delivery and reliability of data in our data warehouse, mentor teammates, and collaborate with stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building data pipelines and platforms.
• Exposure to build, test, and deployment automation.
• Experience with cloud-based architecture and deployment.
• Experience with data collection, streaming, and processing.
• Knowledge of data structures, SQL, and schema design.

Responsibilities

• Champion data best practices and design scalable data architectures.
• Drive critical technical decisions across empowered teams.
• Demonstrate expertise in SQL, data structures, and schemas.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs.
• Own delivery, quality, and reliability of data in the warehouse.
• Analyze performance, root cause issues, and guide engineers.
• Make data easily accessible via the Data Platform.
• Participate in hackathons and PoC experiments.
• Present products/features to internal stakeholders.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
