Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Staff Data Center Controls Engineer to define and implement controls, monitoring, and integration for next-generation modular data centers. You will ensure reliable operation across power, cooling, liquid cooling, and infrastructure systems, establishing controls standards and templates for repeatable deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or related field.
• 12+ years in controls engineering, automation, or systems integration in data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience with BMS/EPMS architectures, DDC, PLC, SCADA and industrial protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Ability to develop and review sequence of operations, points lists, and control diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of controls basis of design, SOO, alarm matrices, sensor and monitoring requirements.
• Create and maintain standard controls templates and integration checklists for repeatable deployments.
• Coordinate interfaces with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Review submittals, diagrams, and networks to verify design intent and standards compliance.
• Support commissioning planning with defined test scripts, tests, and acceptance criteria.
• Capture lessons learned to improve controls frameworks and deployment processes.
