Opiniion is seeking a Staff Data Architect to own the data platform end-to-end, overseeing ingestion, modeling, governance, and analytics readiness.

You will collaborate with the Staff Software Architect to drive the next-generation platform while balancing current data foundations during the transition. Strong data modeling, governance, and leadership are essential in a fast-growing SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering/architecture, with 7+ in leadership.
• Experience building scalable data platforms and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the data platform across ingestion, modeling, storage, and BI layers.
• Collaborate with Staff Software Architect to shape the next-gen platform.
• Balance legacy data foundation with new architecture during transitions.
• Design and implement data models, pipelines, and governance practices.
• Mentor data engineers through reviews and documentation.
• Guide tool selections and platform investments, including build vs buy.
