Job summary

G-P is seeking a Data Architect for the Data Platform to define and drive our Databricks-native architecture. You will balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, aligning engineering investments with customer needs and our long-term tech vision.

Reporting to the Architecture team, you will partner with Product Management, Cloud Operations, and cross-functional squads to ensure governance, security, and architectural excellence while enabling AI-driven data analytics and scalable data

Qualifications

• Extensive data architecture background driving architecture/design decisions in cloud data platforms.
• Strong Databricks or Spark-based lakehouse experience.
• Hands-on capability with the modern data stack; design and deliver complex solutions using SQL/PySpark.
• Experience using agentic AI in SDLC for efficiency and GenAI in data workloads.
• Ability to design data schemas for analytics and reporting consumption.
• Ability to evaluate TCO and make tech trade-offs based on data.
• Effective communicator; align architecture with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and drive scalable, cloud-native target-state architecture across the platform.
• Define patterns for scalable automated data ingestion.
• Deliver PoCs with engineering teams using SQL, PySpark, Serverless Python.
• Drive architecture governance, reduce debt, promote component reuse.
• Define and enforce data platform security standards and governance.
• Partner with Product Management to define analytics strategy and domain alignment.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies, open-source tools, and integrations.
• Ensure high availability, low latency, and minimal outages.
• Advocate for engineering excellence and developer enablement.
• Contribute to AI-powered data platform capabilities.
