Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Staff Customer Quality Engineer to own customer quality and reliability engineering for Tier-1 customers. You will act as the primary interface, managing relationships and delivering regular customer reports with internal teams to drive improvements.
The role requires 9+ years in semiconductor quality/reliability, a BS/MS (PhD preferred), and willingness to engage with Samsung HQ teams.

The Staff CQE (Customer Quality Engineer) will own customer quality and reliability engineering work for one of major customers, and lead internal teams to support customer requests communicate, and then communicate directly with customers at front. The individual will act as a primary customer interface, establishing a working level relationship with Tier-1 customers and work for regular customer reports.
Resides in Samsung Austin Semiconductor Austin office to manage customer quality work for Tier-1 customers.
Participate and lead conference calls and F2F meetings with customers weekly and monthly, and track customer quality metrics with regular reporting to customers.
Review customer quality scorecards and work with internal business units to implement continuous improvement actions that enhance quality performance.
Work cross functionally with various internal organizations from SAS and Samsung HQ in Korea to drive root cause and preventive action using 8D/CAR methodology.
Manage quality perception with key customers as well as internal teams.
Craft customer presentations on defining root cause and corrective actions as well as preventive actions.
Coordinate and join customer audits if needed.
Cooperate to build next-generation customer support tool.
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required: BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, quality, or related technical discipline with 9+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or quality/reliability work. Ph.D. Electrical Engineering or Physical Sciences preferred. Prior Foundry Customer Quality and Reliability Engineer experience preferred.
The current base salary range for this role is between $131,000- $174,500. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor are full-time on-site.
