Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Staff Construction Project Controls Specialist to develop and manage detailed project schedules in a fast-paced EPC environment. The role requires coordinating with project teams to ensure on-time delivery, with emphasis on Primavera P6 scheduling and schedule integration with cost controls.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5 years of scheduling or project controls experience, plus proficiency in Primavera P6 or MS Project

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong understanding of project mgmt, including critical path analysis and EVM.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to gather schedule details.
  • Monitor progress and identify scheduling issues; recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare schedule reports, including critical path analysis and forecasts.
  • Maintain baselines and document changes; revise schedules accordingly.
  • Perform what-if analyses to forecast impacts and mitigation plans.
  • Track schedule deviations and assess impact on timelines.
  • Maintain documentation of scheduling activities; provide training as needed.
  • Coordinate with cost control to align schedule and cost reporting.

Position Summary

The Project Controls Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining project schedules to ensure the timely completion of projects. This role involves coordinating with project teams, stakeholders, and other departments to track project progress, identify potential delays, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.

Responsibilities/Essential Duties will Include:

  • Develop, manage, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project details and ensure accurate schedule development.
  • Monitor project progress and performance to identify potential scheduling issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare periodic schedule reports, including critical path analysis, project forecasts, and status updates for stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update project baselines, ensuring that changes are documented, and schedules are revised accordingly.
  • Conduct “what-if” scenario analysis to forecast potential project impacts and devise mitigation plans.
  • Track and document schedule deviations and assess their impact on the overall project timeline.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of scheduling activities and provide training to team members as needed.
  • Coordinate with the cost control team to integrate schedule and cost information, ensuring alignment and consistency in project reporting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project scheduling, project controls, or related fields, preferably in construction, engineering, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and practices, including critical path analysis and earned value management (EVM).
  • Experience with risk management and familiarity with schedule risk analysis.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding schedule management and best practices.

The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
