Job summary

Realtor.com® seeks a Staff Software Engineer – Cloud Platform to shape our cloud standards and scale platform capabilities. You will own governance, automation, and self-service tooling to accelerate engineering teams building on AWS and Kubernetes.

You will drive platform reliability, cost controls, and developer experience while mentoring engineers across multiple squads to adopt reusable patterns and secure, observable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud platform, DevOps, or infrastructure roles with ownership.
• 4+ years designing, provisioning, and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure in production.
• 3+ years managing production-grade Kubernetes or EKS environments.
• Experience building reusable platform capabilities, internal tooling, or self-service infrastructure.
• Ability to influence technical standards and architecture across teams without formal authority.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve reusable cloud platform patterns for AWS and Kubernetes.
• Lead IaC modules and reference architectures using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Establish platform standards balancing autonomy with security, reliability, and cost.
• Build and extend policy-as-code and automated remediation capabilities.
• Develop self-service platform capabilities and Backstage portals.
• Improve deployment reliability, observability, and operational resilience.
