Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Staff Chief Engineer to lead Mission System’s engineering organization in Chantilly, VA. You will act as the technical authority for a USAF EW LRIP program, directing design, integration, and verification efforts while driving architecture decisions and trade studies.

The role requires broad RF/EW expertise, a current Secret clearance (Top Secret/SI/SAP preferred), and proven leadership of a small engineering team through SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent STEM field.
• 12+ years on RF/EW or radar programs with LRIP or late development.
• Active Secret clearance required to start; Top Secret/SI/SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for USAF EW LRIP program.
• Lead engineering activities to meet technical, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Direct RF/EW architecture trades balancing performance, SWaP, and manufacturability.
• Chair Technical Review Board and support major reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR).
• Oversee system integration, EMI/EMC, environmental qualification, and field tests.
• Mentor a small multi-disciplinary engineering team and drive continuous improvement.
