Job summary

Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist to join the Pediatric Hospital Medicine team in Reading.

You will provide coverage for Level 1 newborn nursery, inpatient general pediatrics, and ED consults, with daytime rounding and overnight home call. This is a teaching hospital with a family medicine residency program and medical students, offering a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • BC/BE in General Pediatrics
  • Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine experience preferred, certification not required
  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
  • Ability to acquire PA license to practice in Pennsylvania
  • Participation in teaching and engagement with division’s quality improvement

Responsibilities

  • Cover Level 1 Newborn Nursery, inpatient general pediatric patients, and ED consults.

Pediatric Hospitalist Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center

Penn State Health St Joseph Medical Center of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is recruiting a Pediatric Hospitalist.

  • Join a group of 3 other dedicated pediatricians
  • Coverage for Level 1 Newborn Nursery, Inpatient General Pediatric patients, and ED consults.
  • Level 2 NICU on site with 24/7 coverage by neonatologists/NNPs
  • Community Hospital within a larger health system that has support of Children’s Hospital
  • Shifts include daytime rounding at the hospital and overnight home call
  • Teaching hospital with a family medicine residency program and medical students
What we’re seeking:
  • BC/BE in General Pediatrics. Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine experience preferred, certification not required.
  • MD, D.O., or foreign equivalent
  • Ability to acquire a license to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Participation in teaching and engagement with division’s quality improvement
