Responsibilities

• Provides personal hygiene care for inmates in the skilled nursing facility (toileting, bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Feeds or assists inmates with feeding.
• Responds to basic care needs and provides general nursing care (dressings, decubitus care, temperature applications).
• Lifts or transfers inmate patients; assists in mobility and exercise.
• Transports via wheelchair and assists with walking and bed transfers.
• Administers medication and observes for adverse reactions.
• Keeps living environment safe and sanitary; handles bedding and laundry.
• Completes charting of care and treatments (vital signs, observations, sheets).
• Assists in evaluating needs and planning individual care; attends training.
