Job summary

State of Nebraska is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care to inmates in Tecumseh and York facilities. Under supervision, you will administer medications, follow physician orders, and deliver direct patient care while guiding licensed practical nurses and care staff.

Starting wage is $50.00 per hour with a $3/hour differential for hours worked plus a $1.50–$2.50 shift differential. Benefits include holidays, leave, retirement, tuition assistance, and more.

Qualifications

• Active Nebraska RN license or authority under Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as an RN in Nebraska.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Must pass pre-employment medical exam and drug test.
• On-the-job training of four to eight weeks.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to inmates under supervision.
• Administer medications and carry out doctor’s orders.
• Assess patients using protocols and triage as needed.
• Provide clinical direction to LPNs and care staff.
