Job summary

Micron Technology in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Staff CAD Design Automation Engineer to design, automate, and optimize CAD tools and flows for CMOS design and verification. You will debug in-house and commercial EDA solutions, develop P-cells and automation, and work with design, PI, and process teams to improve workflows and meet PDK requirements.

The role emphasizes collaboration, tooling development, documentation, and end-user training, supporting the broader EDA and Design Enablement team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years in CAD/VLSI or related semiconductor role.
• Experience with SKILL/Skill++, Python, and/or Perl.
• Experience with PDK development/validation and Cadence tools.
• Experience with Linux/Unix, shell scripting, databases, and version control.
• Strong communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support CAD software, EDA tools, flows, and methodologies for CMOS design and verification.
• Debug, evaluate, and support in-house and commercial EDA solutions in a production environment.
• Develop P-cells, scripts, and automation for physical design, verification, optimization, and tapeout.
• Collaborate closely with design, PI, and process teams to solve workflow and tool challenges, and to implement scalable layout methodologies aligned with PDK requirements.
• Document processes and provide training and support for end users.
