Job summary

Helix is seeking a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist to lead cutting-edge NGS pipelines and ensure high-quality clinical results. You will collaborate across engineering, lab, quality, and clinical teams to launch new science products and support operations by evaluating bioinformatics data underlying clinical variant calls.

The role demands advanced degrees with substantial hands-on DNA sequencing analysis, strong Python coding, and excellent cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Masters with 5+ years of relevant experience or PhD with 3+ years
• Hands-on experience with analyzing DNA sequencing data
• Coding and/or data analysis experience in Python

Responsibilities

• Develop new bioinformatics capabilities to expand use cases and drive volume
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, lab, quality, and clinical teams to launch new science products
• Support operations by evaluating and triaging bioinformatics data underlying clinical variant calls
• Oversee bioinformatics operations, including developing tools and methods to identify and track key metrics
• Develop, maintain, and document clinical analytical validations
