Job summary

Comfy is seeking a strong backend engineer to own the billing stack, meters, payments, and pricing models. You’ll work across services to ensure accurate invoicing, robust subscriptions, and reliable reconciliation in a fast-moving platform for creators.

Build reusable pricing engines and protections against abuse while collaborating with Product, Support, and Finance to improve the customer billing experience.

Qualifications

• Experience building billing or payments systems in production.
• Direct Stripe integration and handling invoices, webhooks, and retries.
• Strong backend engineering with reliable APIs and data models.
• Ability to reason about distributed systems, idempotency, and recovery.
• Experience with relational databases and data integrity across services.
• Ability to communicate tradeoffs to Finance, Product, and Support.

Responsibilities

• Capture usage reliably: meter GPU compute and model API usage with accurate attribution.
• Own the payment lifecycle: checkout, subscriptions, proration, refunds, and failures.
• Reconcile charges, payments, and credits with automated checks and audit trails.
• Make pricing easier to ship: reusable pricing and entitlement systems for customers.
• Limit financial abuse: spend controls and fraud detection in collaboration with teams.
• Provide clear answers: build billing tools for Support, Sales, and Finance.
