Job summary

Dragos is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Sensor team to lead large-scale platform initiatives from design through production. You will set the technical bar for reliability, latency, and data fidelity across OT/ICS monitoring pipelines.

You will own the capture pipeline, broker integration, and observability standards while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and infrastructure teams to ship robust, scalable software that defends critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and debugging distributed systems.
• Deep Rust expertise across asynchronous programming and high-performance systems.
• Experience leading end-to-end initiatives from design to production.
• Strong knowledge of concurrent system design, backpressure, and queues.
• Experience with Linux packet capture and low-latency workloads.
• Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis and durable fixes.
• Experience with production-grade message queuing systems.
• Awareness of cybersecurity best practices and secure coding.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale Sensor Platform initiatives — high-throughput ingestion and scalable pipelines.
• Own root cause analysis and postmortems for complex production issues.
• Set standards for documentation, tests, observability, and performance benchmarks.
• Translate business goals into concrete technical plans and milestones.
• Close gaps in observability, reliability, and developer tooling.
• Mentor team members through design reviews and code reviews.
