Job summary

Talanto is seeking a Lead backend engineer for remote work across the United States and Canada (NYC preferred). You will own identity & access management, payments orchestration, and blockchain data pipelines while mentoring engineers and guiding architecture.

The role demands 5–12+ years in backend/platform engineering for high-scale, high-availability systems in fintech/crypto. Strong Go and Rust skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5–12+ years of backend/platform engineering experience, including high-scale, high-availability systems in fintech/crypto or similar domains.
• Deep expertise in identity & access management, security engineering, or financial systems/ledgering/payments.
• Strong track record designing and operating distributed systems with datastore, queue, streaming, and background workers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate Identity & Access Management services: authentication flows, sessions, device trust; authorization and entitlements; MFA and key management
• Own financial operations systems: transfers and payments orchestration; ledgering and reconciliation; risk controls
• Build and maintain blockchain infrastructure: node and RPC management; transaction submission, monitoring, retry logic; on-chain data indexing and streaming
• Define and uphold reliability and observability standards (SLOs, dashboards, alerts, runbooks, incident management)
• Lead large, cross-functional technical projects from design through rollout
• Mentor and guide other engineers; contribute to engineering standards and design reviews

is the "Robinhood for DeFi" — an iOS/Android app to trade cryptocurrencies on-chain. You'll own critical systems: identity and access, funds movement and ledgering, and the blockchain infrastructure that powers on-chain trading.

• Design, build, and operate Identity & Access Management services: authentication flows, sessions, device trust; authorization and entitlements; MFA and key management
