Job summary

Moonshot is seeking a Senior Backend & Platform Engineer to own identity and access, funds movement, and blockchain infrastructure powering on-chain trading. You will design, build, and operate highly secure systems enabling product teams to move quickly on a solid foundation.

The role requires 5–12+ years in backend/platform engineering, with strong experience in distributed systems, security, and fintech or crypto domains. NYC preferred, remote for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 5–12+ years of backend/platform engineering experience in fintech/crypto or similar.
• Deep expertise in identity/security, financial systems/ledgering, or blockchain infrastructure.
• Proven track record driving architecture decisions and deployments across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate IAM and security controls.
• Own financial operations systems: transfers, ledgering, risk controls.
• Develop blockchain infrastructure: node/RPC, indexing, data streaming.
• Define reliability standards: SLOs, dashboards, runbooks, incident response.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional projects.
