Censys is hiring a Staff Backend Software Engineer to contribute to the Adversary Investigation module within our SaaS platform. You will design resilient APIs and scalable microservices, enabling threat hunters and SOC analysts to access vital security intelligence across global networks.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience building distributed web applications and APIs.
• Experience with building microservices.
• Experience with Go, Java, Python, or Scala and a desire to work with Go in this role.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with Docker and interest in CI/CD deployment processes.
• Desire to improve test coverage and maintainability of code.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, explaining complex concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Architect and refine backend services for the Adversary Investigation module.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Own the full development cycle from builds to deployment and monitoring.
• Integrate internal systems and external APIs for data-intensive UX.
• Engage in a fast-paced environment focused on technical excellence and feedback loops.
