Job summary

Censys is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our remote-first team in the United States or Canada. You will build scalable APIs and microservices for the Adversary Investigation module, partnering with Product, Design, and Frontend to deliver secure, data-driven security intel.

You’ll own the backend stack end-to-end, from builds and tests to deployment and monitoring, with a focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building distributed web applications and APIs.
• 2+ years building microservices in Go.
• Experience with at least one cloud provider (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD processes.
• Desire to improve test coverage and maintainability.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to use AI to amplify skills responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Architect and refine robust backend services to drive the Adversary Investigation module.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to create high-impact solutions.
• Maintain end-to-end ownership of the development cycle from builds to deployment and monitoring.
• Enable data-intensive experiences by integrating internal systems and external APIs.
• Engage in a fast-paced, iterative environment focused on technical excellence and feedback.
