Job summary

Censys is seeking a Systems Engineer to build and operate pipelines and platforms powering threat detection and intelligence capabilities. You will own static/dynamic analysis, YARA tooling, sandboxing, and threat graph modeling to connect indicators, infrastructure, and actors into actionable intelligence.

Remote role, with the ARC (Advanced Research Collective) structure guiding architecture and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering.
• 6+ years building security data pipelines, detection engineering systems, or threat intel platforms.
• Experience with graph-based threat intel platforms and graph data modeling.
• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go.
• Hands-on with static/dynamic malware analysis tooling and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain static and dynamic file analysis pipelines at scale.
• Maintain and optimize YARA rule sets with tooling for testing and performance.
• Operate threat indicator enrichment systems for real-time file metadata extraction.
• Build and grow threat graph intelligence systems connecting indicators to actors.
• Design dynamic analysis capabilities including sandboxing and telemetry collection.
• Ingest and normalize pipelines linking internal scan data with external threat intel feeds.
• Instrument pipelines for reliability and observability (logs, metrics, alerts).
• Collaborate with threat research and detection teams to translate needs into scalable systems.
• Maintain secure handling and isolation for malicious samples and analysis environments.
• Document architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures.
