Syndesus, Inc. in New York City seeks a senior staff backend engineer to help scale and shape the platform that ingests vast data signals for enterprise decision-making. You will own end-to-end backend systems, working across Go and Python to push performance and reliability.

You will collaborate with ML engineers, design data pipelines, and mentor others while contributing to long-term architecture. This is a hands-on leadership role with influence on product direction and technical strategy in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience building systems at scale.
• Strong Python proficiency; Go experience is a plus.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; data processing at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services in Go and Python.
• Architect data ingestion and processing pipelines handling millions of data points.
• Build and maintain APIs powering enterprise AI platforms.
• Work on graph database layer and production graph RAG system.
• Partner with ML/AI engineers to integrate models into production workflows.
• Own system reliability with fault tolerance and observability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions shaping long-term platform trajectory.
• Mentor engineers and establish backend engineering best practices.
