Job summary

Dragos is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build the leading xOT Security Platform. This remote-first role sits in our Backend Community and emphasizes high-quality Rust backends, scalable architectures, and ongoing learning.

You will influence design choices, collaborate across disciplines, and drive reliable systems for critical infrastructure protection. You will design and implement robust services, optimize performance, and participate in the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases (Postgres).
• 3+ years with NoSQL (Elasticsearch).
• 3+ years in a microservices architecture.
• Solid experience with Rust.
• Experience integrating with third-party devices and data providers.
• Experience incorporating AI tools/models into development workflows.
• Ability to lead technical decisions within a team or project scope.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, testable, high-performance systems and tools in Rust.
• Optimize existing software architectures to enhance speed and efficiency.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, including debugging and optimization.
• Stay informed about Rust, security, and software design principles to foster continuous learning.
• Provide and receive peer feedback as part of the review cycle.
