Job summary

Dragos, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Backend Community, building the leading xOT Security Platform. You will design and implement robust, high-performance Rust services and work across a matrix organization as part of a remote-first, North America–wide team.

You will lead technical decisions, mentor peers, and contribute to product sense and security-focused workflows while staying current on Rust, observability, and cloud-native patterns.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL.
• 3+ years of experience with Elasticsearch or similar NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, testable, high-performance systems and tools in Rust.
• Optimize existing software architectures to improve speed and efficiency.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, including debugging and optimization.
• Stay informed about Rust, security, and software design principles; foster continuous learning.
• Lead technical decisions within a team or project scope.
