Dragos, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Backend Community and help build the leading xOT Security Platform. We will rely on you to design robust Rust-based systems, drive architectural decisions, and mentor engineers across multiple teams.

You will stay at the forefront of security, data, and cloud-native design while pushing for reliability, performance, and continuous improvement in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience developing backend systems at scale.
• 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL.
• 5+ years of experience with Elasticsearch.
• 5+ years of experience in a microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in Rust or demonstrated ability to become proficient quickly.
• Experience integrating with third-party devices and data providers.
• Experience incorporating AI tools, models, or services into workflows.
• Proven mentoring experience and ability to lead architectural decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design robust, testable, high-performance Rust-based systems and tools.
• Optimize existing software architectures for speed and efficiency.
• Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle including debugging and optimization.
• Stay informed on Rust, security, and software design advancements to drive improvements.
• Provide and receive peer feedback as part of the review cycle.
