Fetch is building the next generation of systems that power personalized advertising experiences for millions of users. We seek a Staff Backend Engineer to design and evolve backend systems behind real-time decisions, ensuring high throughput, low latency, and operational resilience.

You will set technical standards adopted by multiple teams, architect across services, and drive multi-quarter initiatives that shape the Ads organization and related platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing, building, and operating distributed backend systems at production scale.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems including partitioning, replication, consistency, caching, concurrency.
• Strong API design, service boundaries, event-driven architectures, and data-intensive systems.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture across critical Ads services, designing high-throughput, low-latency services for ad selection, targeting, pacing, delivery, attribution, and measurement.
• Design for reliability, resilience, and operational excellence with metrics, tracing, SLOs, and alerting for revenue-generating systems.
• Evolve event-driven and data-intensive architectures across transactional and non-transactional stores, streaming, messaging, and real-time processing.
