Job summary

Grafana is seeking a Mimir engineer to design, build, operate, and maintain high-scale metrics systems. You will own reliability, performance, and availability while collaborating across squads in a fully remote setup.

The role emphasizes on-call ownership, design reviews, and a pragmatic approach to cloud-native distributed systems. You will work with Go as a primary language, with Python or other languages as a plus, and contribute to AI-assisted development and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience writing robust, maintainable software for cloud-based distributed systems.
• On-call experience and following DevOps practices are required.
• Familiarity with observability tools and metrics-driven debugging.
• Proficiency with Go or similar languages; Python or C/C++ skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems ensuring reliability and performance.
• Lead and participate in design discussions, code reviews, and PRs.
• Deliver features end-to-end from idea to production and customer impact.
• Contribute to open-source projects and cloud product improvements.
• Support on-call rotations and incident follow-ups, and influence roadmaps.
