Job summary

Haus Analytics, Inc. is seeking a senior backend engineer to lead the data platform team in Seattle. You’ll design and build high-throughput backend services, ingestion from analytics partners, and lakehouse workflows that scale for millions of decisions daily.

You’ll own the data contracts, dbt architecture, and BigQuery workloads, shaping data quality, cost, and performance while mentoring senior engineers and collaborating with product and data science teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend and data expertise.
• Deep experience with a cloud data warehouse or lakehouse (BigQuery preferred).
• Expert-level Python for building services.
• Deep SQL/dbt experience for evolving schemas and analytics queries.
• Staff-level technical leadership across multiple workstreams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build backend services powering Haus's data platform.
• Solve distributed-systems problems like exactly-once semantics and backfills.
• Own lakehouse/warehouse design, dbt architecture, data quality and costs.
• Set engineering bar: testing, API design, code review, observability, CI/CD.
• Drive architectural decisions across GCP/BigQuery/dbt/Python and align with data science teams.
• Mentor senior engineers and influence data strategy.
