Job summary

Aurora's Staff Engineer in the Core Services group will help build the asset management solution to scale the autonomous fleet. You will design complex backend systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and shape the architecture for reliable, scalable services in AWS.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience building backend services.
Experience with web communication protocols (REST, gRPC, GraphQL).
Experience building large-scale, high-concurrency, safety-critical backends.
Excellent written and spoken communication; ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
Self-starter with bias for action and ownership across the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Design complex systems from the ground up, collaborating with software, hardware and infra engineers.
Partner with product, design and operations to deliver rapid, safe, scalable self-driving solutions.
Build and maintain a micro-backend in AWS to monitor and manage the full Aurora Commercial Fleet.
Develop fleet management and vehicle communication capabilities.
Scale infrastructure for high availability and reliability.
Mentor teammates and foster a culture of collaboration and engineering excellence.
