Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a software developer with expert-level knowledge of Java (Golang a strong plus).
• Architecting, implementing, tuning, and debugging global cloud software with microservices, cloud infrastructure, and modern container ecosystems.
• Experience addressing scaling, redundancy, and performance bottlenecks in high-availability, multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Strong interest or practical experience with generative AI utilities and developer tooling to boost productivity and system optimization.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills coordinating high-impact technical projects and influencing direction.
• Previous experience in platform reliability, resilience, or core infrastructure roles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver cloud-based infrastructure projects to improve reliability and scalability for Okta’s service.
• Design and implement backend frameworks, microservices, and shared components at scale.
• Champion scalable, resilient solutions and advise teams on fault-tolerant design.
• Explore and integrate AI-driven tooling, automated diagnostics, and predictive monitoring to streamline performance testing and debugging.
• Lead design and code reviews, and drive high-quality tests to maintain standards.
• Participate in incident RCA processes and help develop long-term mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Architects, QA, Product Owners, Engineering Services, and Tech Ops to deliver secure software.
• Mentor new engineers and interns.
