Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior backend software engineer to lead application modernization and cloud migrations on Google Cloud. You will deconstruct monoliths into container-based services, mentor teams, and drive best practices in testing and CI/CD.

You will collaborate with product managers and other engineers to define requirements, implement secure communications with OpenSSL, and integrate metrics with Chronosphere, Prometheus, and Grafana while expanding monitoring and logging capabilities.

Qualifications

10+ years of backend software development.
Recent hands-on Python (3.11+) and PHP (8.x).
Experience deconstructing monoliths into container-based services on Google Cloud.
OpenSSL and secure communication implementation experience.
Strong testing discipline: unit, integration, and acceptance tests.
Degree in computer science or related field.
10+ years of backend development experience focusing on Python.
8+ years of Python (3.11+) and PHP (8.4.x).
Extensive Python experience with complex codebases.
Experience in breaking monoliths into container-based services for scalability.

Responsibilities

Lead modernization efforts and decompose monolithic architectures into container-based services on GCP.
Collaborate with engineering managers and customer stakeholders to ensure project success from definition to delivery.
Drive modernization across internal network-automation services and cloud migrations.
