Rippling in San Francisco is hiring a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer (Backend) to help build the Global Benefits platform, connecting brokers, employers, and employees with hundreds of partners. You will contribute to the Benefits Platform and Marketplace, shaping API design and data models.

You will lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and push AI-enabled development, delivering scalable, resilient systems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• +8 years of software development experience with a track record of delivering high-quality solutions.
• 3+ years as a senior technical leader on multi-team initiatives.
• Experience building and scaling large-scale platforms for web and mobile applications.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems using Python and AWS; Golang/Java/Django/React are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive Architecture & Design for 0-to-1 and scalable system improvements.
• Design for long-term architecture while delivering short-term wins.
• Engage in API design, event modeling, data modeling, ETL, and business logic development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and use data to support technical decisions.
• Mentor and inspire the team, promoting engineering excellence and best practices.
• Champion AI-driven development and guide adoption of AI tools and practices.
