Job summary

Sikich LLC in the United States is seeking a highly motivated Staff Auditor in Alexandria, VA (also serving Columbus, OH and Indianapolis, IN) to join our audit practice. The role requires strong accounting skills, leadership potential, and an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

You will conduct testing to verify accuracy, prepare workpapers and reports, own assigned areas, and leverage data analysis tools to improve audit efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• CPA preferred to join audit practice.
• Prior audit internship/work experience or advanced degree preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Minimum Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct testing to determine accuracy and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
• Prepare workpapers, findings, and reports in accordance with standards.
• Own assigned work areas and meet deadlines.
• Execute tasks per schedule with time for secondary review and client submission.
• Leverage data analysis tools and AI to improve audit efficiency.
• Meet attendance, deadlines, and policy expectations.
• Actively participate in training to grow competencies.
