The role involves audits of financial institutions, collaboration with senior staff, and delivering rigorous testing and documentation during busy seasons. Ideal candidates have 2 busy seasons of public accounting audit experience, strong audit methodology knowledge, and excellent communications.

Staff and Senior Auditor

Location: Melville, NY OR Iselin, NJ (On-site 3-4 days/week)

Industry Focus: Mortgage Banking, Private Debt Funds, Depositories, and Credit Unions

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $75,000 – $100k (based years of exp)
1 busy season ~ $75-80k Staff
2 busy seasons ~ $80-85k Staff
3 busy seasons ~ $90-95k Senior
4+ busy seasons ~ $100k Senior

• Bonus: Discretionary, based on performance (can be up to 20%)

My client is a fast-growing financial services advisory firm specializing in niche verticals such as mortgage banking, private debt funds, depositories, and credit unions. Staff Auditor:

• Assist in audits of financial institutions and related entities

• At least 2 busy seasons of public accounting audit experience
• Strong understanding of audit methodology

Preferred (not required)

• Experience with financial services clients (mortgage banking, private debt funds, etc.)
• ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) experience — this is a big plus
• CPA license or parts passed for senior-level

Additional Info

• Work Schedule: Heavy hours during Q1 (Jan–April), lighter in summer
• Travel: Minimal — 3–5 times/year, mostly local; Q1 concentrated
