Job summary
ABLE, based in Toledo, Ohio, is hiring a Staff Attorney for the Agricultural Worker and Immigrant Rights Practice Group to provide compassionate, high-quality legal representation in humanitarian immigration matters. You will advocate for immigrant and low-income clients across Ohio through direct representation and community education.
The role includes handling U Visas, T Visas, VAWA self-petitions, SIJS, and removal defense, with potential detention work.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Ohio or eligible for admission by motion/temporary certification.
- Spanish language fluency preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal representation in immigration matters before USCIS/EOIR and courts.
- Represent clients in humanitarian immigration matters (U Visas, T Visas, VAWA, SIJS, removal defense).
- Assist with immigration clinics and community outreach.
- Conduct Know Your Rights presentations in community and detention settings.
- Maintain knowledge of immigration law and procedures; manage caseload and reporting responsibilities.
