Qualifications

  • Education: See Special Requirements.
  • Experience: At least one year as a licensed attorney or supervised practice under SCR 2.116, or equivalent.
  • LL.M. may substitute for the required experience.
  • No substitute for education beyond listed special requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to the Cabinet's Office General Counsel on real property and procurement matters, review instruments, draft real estate documents, and assist with related issues.
  • Litigate cases involving the Cabinet at administrative and state/federal court levels.
  • Provide legal input on policies, regulations, and proposed legislation related to financial management, IT, procurement, and real property.
  • Perform contract review and advise on statewide or agency procurement under the Kentucky Model Procurement Code.
