Lone Star Legal Aid seeks a Staff Attorney for its Bryan Branch Office. The attorney will handle civil cases, draft documents, interview clients and witnesses, and represent clients in court and before administrative agencies.

The role supports outreach and community education to advance civil rights for low-income Texans. Qualifications include a law degree, Texas bar admission or reciprocity, and strong legal writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather evidence, conduct civil lawsuits, draft legal documents.
• Advise clients about their legal rights and interview clients and witnesses.
• Represent clients in court and before government agencies.
• Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations for clients and the community.
• Engage in outreach and community education, supporting LSLA’s mission.
• Potentially supervise subordinate staff and volunteers.
• Handle a caseload, major litigation, and evening clinics.
