The D.C. Bar is seeking a licensed attorney to support Board and Hearing Committee activities in a hybrid Washington, DC role.

You will draft research memoranda, prepare reports, review motions, and summarize opinions, while maintaining confidential information and meeting deadlines. Qualified candidates hold an ABA JD, DC Bar membership in good standing, and strong research/writing skills, with proficiency in Westlaw, Bluebook, and Office 365.

Formación

• JD from an ABA accredited law school, in good standing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; Westlaw and other electronic legal research.
• Familiarity with the Bluebook; ability to write clearly on complex legal issues.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented, deadline driven, and able to multi-task.

Responsabilidades

• Drafts research memoranda and advises Board and Hearing Committee members for oral arguments and hearings.
• Assists in preparing Board and Hearing Committee reports, including legal research, proofreading and cite checking.
• Reviews motions and prepares recommendations to Hearing Committee and Board members.
• Maintains summaries of DC Court of Appeals opinions and Board reports.
• Obtains and forwards case summaries, legal memoranda and abstracts to Hearing Committee and Board members.
• Maintains office research memoranda and files.
• Assists with preparation for periodic Hearing Committee and Board trainings, including training material.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
