Experience: 4+ years of litigation experience

Salary: $195,000–$205,000, + bonus -depending on experience and qualifications

Bar Admission: Active New York or California Bar membership required

Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced Staff Attorney to join its Consumer Litigation practice group in New York, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. The Staff Attorney will work closely with Partners on a variety of consumer litigation and arbitration matters, with significant responsibility for managing individual cases from inception through resolution.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage individual litigation & arbitration matters under the supervision of Partners.
• Review correspondence, pleadings, and case developments & promptly elevate urgent issues.
• Manage case calendars, deadlines, and other critical dates.
• Conduct document review and discovery.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Supervise and coordinate with local counsel.
• Communicate regularly with opposing counsel.
• Assist with settlement negotiations and prepare client settlement recommendations.
• Draft settlement agreements and related documents.
• Appear in court and attend arbitration merits hearings, as needed.

Main Requirements:

• At least 4 years of litigation experience.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
• Confidence and professionalism when communicating with opposing counsel.
• A Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing in either the New York or California Bar.
• JAMS or AAA arbitration
• Consumer litigation and arbitration
• Defense of financial institutions or commercial clients
• Consumer protection, banking, or privacy laws
• Bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings

The anticipated base salary range is $195,000–$205,000. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, relevant skills, education, certifications, professional licenses, and other job-related factors.
