Our Mission Care Comfort Plan Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home Memorial Park and Crematory is seeking a Part Time Staff Associate to join our team in Hayward, California, where we offer a passionate and purpose-filled work environment.

The Staff Associate assists funeral directors with events, helps maintain the facility’s appearance, and provides information to client families with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Experience handling difficult situations with sensitivity.
• Must be available to work weekdays and/or weekends.
• Weekend requirement: four weekend days per month.
• Evenings during weekday or weekend may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist funeral directors with events on site, including services.
• Maintain reverence and respect for the deceased.
• Prepare memorial area two hours before services.
• Return flowers and memorabilia to families after services.
• Answer inquiries by phone or in person.
• Help ensure service vehicles are presentable.
• Help clean memorial area after services and prep for next ceremony.
• Support director/arranger with moving the casket, urns, and guests.
• Coordinate on-site and off-site services as scheduled.

Our Mission Care Comfort Plan Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home Memorial Park and Crematory is looking for a Part Time Staff Associate to join our team in Hayward California where we offer a passionate and purpose filled work environment Our Staff Associates are responsible for assisting funeral directors with events helping to maintain the facility appearance and providing information in a compassionate and professional manner to our client families This is a great opportunity for mortuary students or mortuary student candidates Your work is the foundation of our ability to supply a source of support guidance and direction to client families before during and after the loss of a loved one We provide our staff with strong local regional and home office support so that they focus on what matters serving our client families.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with funeral directors with events held on site including services and arrangement conferences
• Establish and maintain strong business relationships with families
• Always maintain reverence and respect for the deceased
• Assist in preparing the memorial area for the family two hours before the services start
• Ensure that flowers and other memorabilia are returned to the family after services
• Answer customer inquiries professionally either by phone or in person
• Ensure that service vehicles are presentable prior to the service
• Assist is cleaning the memorial area after the conclusion of a service and preparing for the next ceremony being held in that area
• Assist the funeral directorarranger in charge in directing the movement of the casket urn immediate family members pallbearers and guests
• Conduct on site and off site services as dictated by the business schedule

Compensation

range of 18 20hour based upon experience
