Job description

Join to apply for the Staff Assistant, Registrar Office role at Hamilton College.

This position involves supporting office policies and processes to maintain academic records, including course registration, transfer credit, degree completion, transcript processing, and verification requests. The role requires providing excellent support to students, faculty, and staff, with flexibility to handle unexpected tasks.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, fixed-term position ending on June 30, 2028, with a pay rate of $20.00 per hour. The position supports daily operations within the Registrar’s Office.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with office processes such as registration, transfer credits, grades, and transcripts
  • Provide quality customer service in person, by phone, and email
  • Enforce college policies and maintain confidentiality according to FERPA
  • Establish effective working relationships
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and experience in higher education preferred; experience in a Registrar’s Office is a plus. Oneida County Notary License is preferred. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office; experience with Ellucian Colleague is desirable
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with faculty, students, and staff
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn college curriculum and data standards
  • Knowledge of FERPA and commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment
