Job summary

The University of Mississippi's History Department is seeking an organized administrative professional to provide complex support to faculty and staff.

You will schedule meetings, coordinate events, greet visitors, route inquiries, and assist with financial and HR data entry under general supervision.

A high school diploma is required and about two years of relevant experience; pay ranges from $18.64 to $27.96 per hour.

Job Summary

Job Description
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, department-sponsored events, conferences, travel, and work unit operations for undergraduate, graduate, and faculty colleagues.
  • Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, greets arrivals, and provides basic organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums, routing more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities. Will work with the Graduate Program Coordinator in communication with prospects and current graduate students.
  • Processes, enters, tracks, and reconciles financial transactions and human resources data.
  • Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums.
  • Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision.

An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
