Criminal Justice & Legal Studies
This position provides administrative, academic, and operational support for the Department of Criminal Justice & Legal Studies by coordinating graduate program administration, student success initiatives, recruitment and outreach activities, departmental communications, event planning, and strategic projects. The Academic Operations Coordinator serves as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, alumni, and university partners to support efficient departmental operations, enhance student engagement, and advance the department’s enrollment, retention, and programmatic goals. This position also supports departmental administrative processes, reporting activities, and operational initiatives to ensure effective service to students, faculty, and other stakeholders.
Candidates must possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; demonstrate initiative and attention to detail; effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines; and work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and external stakeholders. Candidates should be able to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to a student-centered environment focused on academic excellence and continuous improvement.
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
