Job summary

Lessard Design Inc. (LDI) seeks a Staff Architect to join its design-driven practice in Virginia.

The role reports to the Job Captain and Project Manager, contributing to construction documents and daily design development with the project team. Responsibilities include creating and revising designs, ensuring quality and timely client communications, coordinating drawings, and supporting the Project Manager to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• A degree in architecture or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience.
• Strong AutoCAD and REVIT proficiency.
• Experience with residential building type.
• Good communication skills (verbal, written).

Responsibilities

• Create and revise daily designs and technical development for assigned projects.
• Assist Job Captain and Project Manager in quality, schedule and budget adherence and client communications.
• Function as LDI client advocate and ensure communication accuracy.
• Insure the design process quality: planning, Construction Documents and Administration.
• Assist in coordinating Working Drawings deliverables and project timelines.
• Attend meetings as required by the Project Manager.

The staff architect reports to the Job Captain and Project Manager of each group. They will be required to follow schedules and complete construction documents in collaboration with their project team.

Responsibilities and Functions

• Create and make revisions for daily designs and technical development of assigned projects
• Assist Job Captain and Project Manager in setting and meeting quality standards for design, technical and financial performances and effective client communications
• Function as LDI client advocate
• Insure quality of design process: planning solutions, Construction Documents and Construction Administration
• Assist in implementation of the Project Manager plan to insure adherence to schedule and budget.
• Assist in coordination of the deliverables of the Working Drawings
• Ensure accuracy in all communications with LDI’s clients
• Ensure all deadlines are met as specified by project manager; and if necessary give adequate notice if issues are unresolved
• Must have a general understanding of codes and handicap issues.
• Attend meetings as the Project Manager deems necessary.
• Other duties as may be assigned by LDI.
