Job summary

Procore Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Staff Applied Research Scientist to lead hands-on ML systems for spatial intelligence from construction drawings, BIM, and project data in the San Francisco area.

You will guide design, training, and deployment of scalable ML solutions and collaborate with ML engineers, software engineers, product managers, and domain experts. You will act as a technical leader, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability while shaping technical direction for

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering/ML.

Responsibilities

• Act as day-to-day technical lead for ML projects within Frontier Models & Spatial Intelligence.
• Design, implement, and iterate ML systems analyzing 2D drawings and BIM data to detect clashes and constructability risks.
• Lead development of model training, evaluation, and inference pipelines with engineers.
• Drive POC work to validate technical approaches and reduce ambiguity.
• Ensure health, performance, and maintainability of ML codebases and systems.
• Set and uphold engineering quality standards via code reviews and mentorship.
• Collaborate with partner teams to integrate spatial intelligence systems into Procore’s platform.
• Identify risks and architectural gaps and address them or escalate.
