Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI to own end-to-end enterprise AI programs for strategic customers. You will lead a small team of engineers, set technical direction, and stay deeply technical while engaging with customers to ensure outcomes.

You will guide scoping, architecture, deployment, monitoring, and handoff, defining quality metrics and ensuring safety, faithfulness, and performance in production AI systems. Travel 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Leading technical projects or teams, setting direction and delivery.
• Productionizing applications with LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Defining quality metrics/eval frameworks and improving AI systems over time.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for technical/executive audiences.
• Able to navigate ambiguity and independently handle complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of complex AI engagements for customers.
• Define quality metrics, evaluation frameworks, and guardrails for AI systems.
• Mentor and develop 2–6 Applied AI Engineers.
• Design, iterate, and ship high-quality ML pipelines and agentic solutions.
• Productionize AI at scale with secure, scalable deployments and observability.
• Advise customer leadership on Snowflake AI deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to evolve the platform.
• Identify recurring deployment patterns to create reusable assets.
• Travel at least 25% to work with strategic customers.
